City Of Howard Lake
On behalf of the residents of the City of Howard Lake, I would like to welcome you to our community.
Howard Lake is full of history. Historic Howard Lake is part of what was called the Big Woods area of the state, and was incorporated into a village in 1878. The year 2008 marks 130 years for Howard Lake and 150 years for the state of Minnesota.
Our community offers excellent public and parochial school systems. In addition to parks and recreation areas, our fine lakes offer both excellent fishing and boating.
Our rural and agricultural area is rich with family values and pride, and is home to a number of great civic organizations such as the American Legion and Lions Club to name a couple.
Our senior citizens both foster and perpetuate this good neighbor community, and are our community foundation.
Howard Lake has a full-time police department, in addition to a well equipped and trained fire department, which also runs the community ambulance service. Both departments do an exceptional job responding to community needs and keeping us safe.
During the third week of June 2008, we will be celebrating the city’s 130th year in conjunction with our Good Neighbor Days festival. We invite everyone here for this great celebration and hope you will consider making your home here in Howard Lake.
